7 Ways the Galaxy S6 Beats the iPhone 6

Published

on

We’ve been using the iPhone 6 since September and the Samsung Galaxy S6 since April. These are two of the best smartphones on the market though there are some differences that prospective buyers need to know about before picking up one or the other. Today, we want to take a look at a few ways that the Galaxy S6 beats the iPhone 6.

In September, Apple took the stage and announced two new iPhone 6 models that were, and still are, aimed at the Android competition. The two devices come with the usual array of high-end features including speedy processor, solid rear camera, and high-resolution display. The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus also come with large displays a feature that was once a hallmark of Android devices.

The 4.7-inch iPhone 6 is the iPhone for most people and it’s still one of the best smartphones that money can buy.

In March, Samsung took the stage and announced two new Galaxy S6 models that were, and still are, aimed at the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The two devices come with an array of high-end features including speedy processor, solid rear camera, and Quad HD resolution. The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge also come with a premium design language that was once reserved for the iPhone and more recently, the HTC One.

The 5.1-inch Galaxy S6 is the Galaxy S6 for most people and like the iPhone 6, it’s one of the best smartphones on the market.

We’ve been using these two phones, extensively, for a number of weeks now. Both phones are great though there are some places where one or the other shines. With that in mind, we want to point out some of the places where the Samsung Galaxy S6 beats the iPhone 6.

Fast Charging

Fast Charging

Both of these phones come with large batteries, capable of delivering all day battery life. While that's nice, large batteries often take awhile to charge, something that is annoying if you're in a hurry to get out of the house or office.

Well, if you use the right charger, you can charge the Galaxy S6 faster thanks to the device's QuickCharge 2.0 technology. For this feature to work, you need the charger that came with your phone, or one of these spares, and you need to plug in directly to the phone. While fast charging, the battery can go from below 10% to 50% in about 30 minutes.

The feature is not a gimmick, it actually charges much faster than your average phone. It's one of the advantages the Galaxy S6 holds over the iPhone 6, a device that doesn't come with any fast-charging capabilities of its own.

It appears that you find yourself using the Galaxy more than the iPhone simply because you prefer android to iOS. If you spent more time on iOS and researching the iPhone 6, you’d see a couple points you made are actually just false. In regards to the storage options, Apple does not offer the 32GB option any more, just 16, 64, and 128. This actually prices the iPhone a little less than the Galaxy S6 and a lot less than the S6 edge on the higher two capacities, making the iPhone a better value. And in regards to quick charging, they seem to be on par there, too. I just timed a charge on my iPhone 6 from 10% to 50%. It took 35 min. Maybe the iPhone 6 doesn’t come with “Quick Charging” because it just doesn’t need it.

I am one of those rare breeds who has no brand loyalty. Whomever has the best phone out gets my money, as i have no problem switching from Droid to ios and vice versa. I tease iphone heads and droid heads all the same. Companies compete, and with technology I don’t feel anyone can have the edge with each new outing every time. I’ve gone from the iPhone 4s( I didn’t bat an eye at the iPhone 5 my 4s did everything it did besides the fingerprint scanner. I held on to the 4s longer than any phone to date) to the S5, then the iPhone 6plus, now the S6. I switched from the iphone6 plus to the S6 2 weeks ago. Charging was a huge part of that, not only is the S6 faster when plugged in(yes the s6 fast charge is much faster than i6plus) I use a wireless charger at my desk and don’t have to fool with wires at work. Also the screen is beautiful on the s6, side by side with the i6plus the difference is extremely noticeable. The camera is simply better as well. Tbh I would take my s5 back over my iphone6. But I have a feeling I may be back to iPhone when the 7 debuts or not……Time will tell.

And the iPhone users get their panties tired in a knot…

Couple of inaccuracies with the article. IPhone sells 16,64,128 GB varieties.

Smart lock doesn’t work properly with the fingerprint ID. My LG watch doesn’t always allow it to work. Bluetooth is still a pain in the ass. Pass code and pin or swipe it works fine.

Quick charge has charged my phone from 10% to 50% in 25 mins. iPhone users remember your battery is 1000mah smaller….

Go to the telco shop and bring up pictures on the galaxy s6 Qhd screen with its stunning resoultion. Then open the pictures in an iphone. If you cant see the difference in Quality of the Galaxys 2k screen over a 750 p screen of an iphone. Someone better go get there eyes checked.

Rumor has it that apple will still continue the ongoing storage SKUs. Apparently they don’t plan to produce a 32gb memory “base” option and will continue into their next iteration with the current 16 gb memory base option. That’s just as Assholey as it gets.

You found yourself watching movies games and more on the galaxy, So do i after looking at the Qhd screen real estate then going and looking at my iphone it looks dull and lifeless and small. To all the people who think higher resoultion dosent matter, go get your eyes checked because it does. 750p screen on the iphone is laging so far behind the leaders.
