Microsoft Says Halo Is Coming to Windows 10

When Microsoft announced Windows 10 the company made it clear that for the first time ever it hoped to bring all of its services together. Free Microsoft Office for casual users, paid music streaming new Windows 10 apps, all were confirmed. Xbox was confirmed for Windows 10 t0o. 

Windows 10 has built-in hooks so that developers can create games that use Microsoft’s Xbox Live services. More specifically, players can pair the Xbox One controller with Windows 10 PCs and play some titles along with their friends over Xbox Live. For example, Gigantic and Fable Legends both have cross-platform capabilities. Microsoft says going forward it’ll treat Windows 10 PCs like another Xbox console.

That’s terrific news, but to drive the point home, Microsoft should consider doing the unthinkable and introducing Windows PC versions of Halo 5: Guardians. Despite some attitudes, most users by video game consoles because they’re never going to invest tones of money in a gaming PC. A PC release of Halo 5: Guardians isn’t likely to change that, and it’ll show PC gamers that Microsoft is serious about the space.
