Forza 6 Release Date: 5 Things You Need to Know

Published

on

The Forza 6 release date for Xbox One is finally confirmed which means that fans of the series can now circle a specific date on the calendar. With that in mind, we want to take a look at five things you need to know about the upcoming Forza 6 release date for Xbox.

In January, Turn 10 and Microsoft confirmed the next installment in the Forza Motorsport series, a game that’s unsurprisingly called Forza 6.

At the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, the companies confirmed several important details though they neglected to confirm key gameplay details or a specific Forza 6 release date for the Xbox. Instead, they chose E3 2015 as the venue for those announcements and today, on stage, Microsoft and Turn 10 confirmed a number of new details regarding the Forza 6 release.

Microsoft’s launch event focused on several new games including Halo 5 and Dark Souls 3 but it also saved some time to talk about Forza 6. With an Xbox Forza 6 release date now confirmed for later this year, we want to take a look at five things fans of the series and average gamers need to know about the Forza 6 release date.

Forza 6 Release Date Confirmed

The Forza 6 release date is confirmed and it’s going to arrive well ahead of the holiday shopping season.

On stage, the developers confirmed the Forza 6 release date for September 15th, a date that falls just before the start of the fall in the tail end of the summer.

While it’s possible that we’ll see a delay, we’re not expecting one. Microsoft and Turn 10 confirmed a Forza 6 release for 2015 in January and now we have a very specific date to look forward to. In other words, they’re extremely confident about hitting their deadline.

No Xbox 360 or PS4 Forza 6 Release

Once again, it’s worth reminding you that there will not be a Forza 6 release for PS4 or Xbox 360.

Turn 10 is an in-house developer at Microsoft and the Forza series is an Xbox exclusive. Those who own the PS4 will need to look at games like Project CARS as an alternative to the Forza 6 release.

The companies also did not surprise with an Xbox 360 Forza 6 announcement. Microsoft is trying hard to move people to the Xbox One and this game will remain exclusive to that platform.

Where You Can Pre-Order

You can already pre-order Forza 6 well ahead of its confirmed September 15th release date.

A number of retailers including Best Buy, GameStop and Amazon are offering pre-orders on the game and all three are currently charging $60 for the rights.

Those interested in pre-ordering Forza ahead of its release date will want to investigate these three retailers and others before putting in an early order. For instance, GameSpot and Best Buy will allow you to pre-order and pick up the game in the store on release day.

Forza 6 Deals

While we haven’t seen any huge Forza 6 price cuts just yet, we have seen some deals that are worth noting today and in the buildup to September’s release date.

Best Buy is offering $10 in reward certificates to those in the My Best Buy program that pre-order the game ahead of its release. Those who are part of Best Buy’s Gamers Club Unlocked program will also be able to take advantage of the usual discount that knocks the price of the game down to $48.

We’re expecting a number of other Forza 6 deals to emerge though we may not see some retailers offer incentives until we get closer to the release date. Price cuts on Forza games are actually pretty rare after release so buyer will want to keep an eye out for details.

Forza 6 Pre-Order Bonuses

Microsoft and Turn 10 have released a new Forza 6 gameplay trailer that features actual in-game footage of the game. There’s still much to discuss but this will have to suffice until the developers make their next announcements.

At the very end of the E3 gameplay trailer, Turn 10 and Microsoft confirm that Forza 6 pre-orders will net buyers some kind of exclusive content. We’re still waiting for details to be confirmed though judging from the fine print, it appears that the pre-order bonus will include cars.

And yes, there appears to be Top Gear branding in the game.
