Android M Developer Preview 2: Quick Look at What’s New

Google Now on Tap

Arguably one of the best and most exciting features coming to Android M is something called Google Now on Tap. Essentially being able to get amazing details and information from Google Now cards inside of any screen or app, just by long-pressing the home button. Information is available at a glance, without leaving what you're doing, and can be swiped away so you can get back to whatever it was you were doing.

This was shown off on stage, looks amazing, and is still somewhat missing. That said, the option is now here in Android M Preview 2, and hopefully Google will unlock it for users before the release this fall. We can enable it, opt in with a hilarious but ugly interface, but it still doesn't work. Not yet at least. Here's to hoping they green light this feature soon.
