iPhone 6s Release Date MIA

While we've seen an increase in iPhone 6s rumors and credible iPhone 6s rumors at that, we still don't have a rumored iPhone 6s launch date (announcemnet date) or a rumored iPhone 6s release date (the day that it hits shelves).

We've seen a series of iPhone 6s release date rumors emerge in recent days though none of the credible ones have pinpointed exact dates. What they have alluded to though is that the iPhone 6s release date is inching its way closer to reality.

At the end of June, Bloomberg reported that early iPhone 6s production had begun, a sign that the device is on track for a release this year. We also have a clue from Apple.

At WWDC, Apple confirmed an iOS 9 release for the fall. New iOS software always accompanies new iPhone hardware so there's a very good chance that the iPhone 6s will arrive somewhere in and around the start of the fall as well. Fall 2015 kicks off on September 23rd.

The thing to focus on here is the fact that we're probably just a few weeks away from the iPhone 6s launch and release. For some of you, that might be too long of a wait. For others, it's nothing.

A new report from The Wall Street Journal states that Apple has asked its various iPhone suppliers to prepare for an absolutely massive iPhone 6s release.

The WSJ's sources claim that Apple wants them to deliver 85 million to 90 million parts for the new iPhone 6s models models and that it wants these parts ready before the end of the year. This could, perhaps, ease the stock shortages that we typically see immediatly after the iPhone goes on sale.

Bloomberg's report suggests that "final assembly is expected to be smooth because the design of the new iPhones is similar to the current model."

This is important because the iPhone typically sells out within hours and remains sold out for several weeks as Apple ramps up production. This might still be the case with the iPhone 6s but we could see supply times improve quicker than they did with previous iPhones.

Really iPhone 6 is the best smartphone of 2014. It made many reasons to purchase this flagship model. In design, performance, camera and battery it does more than pass. Where other devices might have one standout feature and other serious failings elsewhere, the iPhone 6 is competent across the board with several standout features.
