Apple iPhone 6 Leather Case Review

Published

on

The Apple iPhone 6 leather case isn’t the flashiest and it isn’t the cheapest but it’s one of the best iPhone 6 cases money can buy thanks to its minimalistic design and sturdy grip.

There are tons of iPhone 6 case options on the market but Apple’s official iPhone 6 leather case is one of the standouts thanks to the design and protection that it offers at its price point. Not only does the leather iPhone 6 case look nice but it provides extra grip, something that is necessary thanks to the slippery iPhone 6 design.

Its premium feel, its selection of beautiful colors, and the basic protection that it brings to the iPhone 6 make it an easy case to recommend to owners of the 4.7-inch iPhone.

iPhone-6-1

Apple’s leather iPhone 6 case is available in a number of different colors and it costs just $49. It’s more expensive than the company’s silicone case but for the extra money you’re going to get a much better case for the iPhone 6.

While the iPhone 6 leather case does provide basic protection for the iPhone 6, it’s not recommended for iPhone 6 users who take their iPhone into rugged environments. It will protect the iPhone 6 against scratches, average drops and the wear and tear of daily use but it’s not going to protect the iPhone 6 from the elements. Those looking for a heavy duty case should look at Lifeproof or Otterbox for more protection.

For months, I held out on buying an iPhone 6 case. I don’t like using cases, mainly because it covers up the beautiful design of the iPhone. I used the iPhone 5 without a case, no problem. However, the iPhone 6 design is slippery and I’ve dropped the device a number of times including one time a few weeks ago that put a small gash on the back of the phone.

After spending several days researching cases, I decided on Apple’s official case, a black one, and I can’t recommend this case enough. It’s durable, the black color goes great with the gray design and it adds protection without adding bulk.

Apple’s new case covers the power button and the volume keys. I’ve had a little bit of trouble finding the keys because they aren’t all that defined. I also haven’t used a case in years. The keys are responsive underneath the case though so it’s just a matter of training my brain to find the right area to push. The case also leaves a hole for the headphone jack, Lightning cable, speaker grille, and on the left side the mute switch.

What’s also nice is that the iPhone 6 leather case is thick enough to not only protect the protruding camera lens but also the screen. The lip allows iPhone 6 users to set the phone screen-side down and come away unscathed. It will also help to prevent a broken screen should you drop the iPhone 6 down on the floor or pavement.

The case also includes an Apple logo on the back, just in case you forget that you’re using an iPhone. The logo is right where it is on the back of the iPhone 6, a nice touch.

iPhone-6-4

The Apple iPhone 6 leather case is not the cheapest option but I think it’s the best option for most people. It doesn’t feel cheap, it adds protection without bulkiness and it’s going to keep many iPhone 6 users from dropping their device. There are a ton of iPhone 6 case options out there but this is the case to buy if you’re looking for a minimal design that not only looks great but feels great in the hand. It’s a sound investment.

Apple Leather iPhone 6 Cases

One of the most popular iPhone 6 cases is the leather iPhone 6 case from Apple. This case is one that you can find in any Apple Store on release day and is also listed with many carriers.

Apple designs the leather iPhone 6 case with premium leather in a small form factor that adds minimal bulk to the new iPhone. You can find the leather iPhone 6 case in five color options that match the white and black front of the iPhone 6.

Watch out if you buy the red iPhone 6 case as the leather model for the iPhone 5s wore very fast and looked dirty and grey soon after purchasing.
