Cortana, Microsoft’s Windows Phone personal assistant is now built into Windows 10. It actually lives in that Search bar that’s added to the Taskbar by default. You can use text or voice to add appointments to your calendar, send emails and even order an Uber vehicle. By default Cortana acts as your manager, keeping you abreast of weather changes, offering the latest news, searching music and taking feature commands. She has no counterpart in Windows 8 really.

If you don’t configure Cortana on your system the search box acts as an easy way to look for files and connect to Bing.
