Some fancy new Motorola smartphones, a bigger and better LG G4, and Samsung’s Galaxy Note 5 are all coming later this year, not to mention a new iPhone 6s Plus, but that doesn’t mean the Nexus 6 isn’t worth considering. In fact, there are multiple reasons we think all users will love Google’s big Nexus 6 smartphone.

Last year in October Google officially announced Android 5.0 Lollipop running on a few Nexus devices. Those being the Nexus 6, a new Nexus 9 tablet, and even a Nexus Player for our TVs. In November the Nexus 6 finally hit shelves around the globe and then all five major US carriers, a first for any Nexus in a long time, including Verizon Wireless.

With the Nexus 6 Google completely changed the “Nexus” program. No longer was it a upper mid-range device with just enough to almost compete with flagship devices, but at a lower cost. Instead they tossed everything imaginable inside this huge 5.96-inch smartphone, and released it for a big $649 price tag. Read on for why we think that even though it’s pricey, it’s a great smartphone.

As the summer of 2015 is coming to a close there are tons of excellent smartphones available to buyers, and more coming soon. Options like the Galaxy S6, the big LG G4, and even the upcoming Galaxy Note 5 with a massive 5.7-inch display slightly smaller than Google’s Nexus 6.

Motorola has multiple new devices in the works, reportedly a new 5.5-inch Moto X, and we’re even hearing this year Google will release two Nexus smartphones. One Nexus 5 (2015) with a 5.2-inch screen made by LG, and a bigger Nexus 6 replacement made by Huawei, but with a smaller 5.7-inch Quad-HD display.

And while all the devices we just mentioned above sound like great smartphones, most of them aren’t available yet, and won’t be on store shelves for a few more months, with an exception of the Moto X which will be announced on July 28th. With that in mind, many buyers may be looking for a phone right now, and here’s 11 reasons the Nexus 6 is a great choice with tons of features buyers will love.

Big, Beautiful Display

Big, Beautiful Display

The Nexus 6 is a whale of a phone. So much in fact that Google's codename for it is "Shamu". That's because it comes with a large 5.96-inch screen with an amazing 2560 x 1440 Quad-HD (2k) resolution.

The Nexus 6 screen is big, bright and clear, crisp, and has great colors. Everything is vibrant, blacks are inky black and look great, and it has some of the best viewing angles of any 2k resolution screen available to date. Better than the newer LG G4.

If you want a huge screen for watching movies, viewing YouTube, and just enjoying everything in a bigger fashion, the Nexus 6 needs to be near the top of your list. You'll love it, jut as I've done for the last 9 months, as I got it a month earlier than the release. I still use mine daily, simply because the screen is wonderful.
