Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 Release: 5 Things to Know

Published

on

The Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 release date arrived early to deliver access to what was supposed to be the last chapter of the story, but we are still waiting for the Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 iPhone and iPad release to arrive.

After three successful games that still sit in the top 20 paid iPhone apps, the creator of Five Nights at Freddy’s is back with a new version of the game to scare and surprise fans of the horror series that tasks you with staying alive until the morning.

Originally released last September, the Five Nights at Freddy’s series starts with the task of keeping an eye on Freddy Fazbear and tow other giant animatronic robots that come alive at night and wander around Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza.

The fun continues in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 where you replace the old security guard and you must contend with a smarter facial recognition equipped Freddy Fazbear and his friends again. In Five Nights at Freddy’s 3 you pick up 30 years later as a company looks to re-create the horror.

For Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 you play as a child who must survive until 6 AM, armed with only a flashlight. This time, “Freddy Fazbear, Chica, Bonnie, Foxy, and even worse things that lurk in the shadows.” Stay safe by scaring off creatures that lurk in your closet, on your bed and behind you.

Here’s a look at what you need to know about the Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 release date and when you might be able to play on iPhone and iPad.

Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 Release Date Surprise

Jump scares aren't the only surprise, we didn't expect a Five Nights at Freddy's 4 release date this soon.

Jump scares aren’t the only surprise, we didn’t expect a Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 release date this soon.

Originally planned for October, right in time for Halloween, the Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 release date arrived early last week on Steam for Windows. Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 is $7.99 on Steam with no Mac support at the time being. Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 is $7.99 on Steam.

Shortly after this the Android Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 release date arrived offering the first look at a mobile version of the new Five Nights at Freddy’s game. You can buy Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 on Google Play for $2.99.

The developer warns that this game requires at least 512MB of RAM on your device and it will crash on older devices without enough memory.

Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 iPhone Release Date

We're still waiting for the iPhone Five Nights at Freddy's 4 release date to arrive.

We’re still waiting for the iPhone Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 release date to arrive.

We are patiently waiting for the iPad and iPhone Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 release date to arrive. With a mobile version already on devices, there is little chance that the developer will skip an iPhone release, especially with a feature film in the works.

This is one of the rare instances where a game arrives on Android ahead of iPhone and iPad, but with the three earlier versions already on iOS it is unlikely that this game will skip Apple devices.

The developer sis not comment on a iPhone Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 release date and the website is now offline.

Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 Reviews

Read the early Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 reviews to find out if the game is worth buying on your preferred device.

The Five Nights at Freddy's 4 reviews are a little scary.

The Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 reviews are a little scary.

Destructoid delivers a scathing Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 review that calls out the new sound based detection method that leads to cheap scares and a game that is, “stressful in all the wrong ways.” Even if you are a fan of the game, you should read this Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 before you buy.

The Android Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 reviews from users add up to a 4.6 out of 5 star rating. Users are glad that breathing sounds are now louder, which may help address some of the complaints about super loud scares that come from cranking the volume to maximum.

On Google Play Trowa Barton sums up that’s great and what’s missing in a Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 review, “This is easily the most fear inducing game available. This is a great game that even the mobile version has great tension and scare factor. The only complaint I have is the mini games aka the story parts are missing. Why!?!?!”

Five Nights at Freddy’s DLC, Ratings and Details

This is not a game for kids.

This is not a game for kids.

Before you jump into Five Nights at Freddy’s 4, keep in mind this game is rated Mature. You play as a child, but this is not a game for children.

There is no way to buy all the Five Nights at Freddy’s games as one at a discount, but at $2.99 each on mobile, $12 for the series is still a bargain.

There is a promise of Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 DLC coming at Halloween, which will continue the store in some way.

Not the last Five Night at Freddy’s Game?

This isn't the end of Five Nights at Freddy's from the looks of it.

This isn’t the end of Five Nights at Freddy’s from the looks of it.

Originally described as, “the last chapter of the Five Nights at Freddy’s story.”, the new release information leaves room open or more games. The Steam description clearly says, “In this last chapter of the Five Nights at Freddy’s original story,” which suggests another game is coming.

With a Five Nights at Freddy’s movie coming from Warner Bros, it would be a shock to not see a game arrive in time with the movie. It’s rare to see a movie release without an app of some kind these days, and it would be shocking to see this happen for a movie that started as a game.

This is a comment on the game. Hopefully Scott reads these things, but the sound in the game is a problem. Almost everytime I move anywhere there is a sound of footsteps. I know this is meant to happen, but shortly before or after I’ve finished moving to my destination, I hear quicker footsteps. If this is a bug, please cawthorn fix it. It is really bugging me (pun not intended). Thanks
