iPhone 6 iOS 9 Release

iPhone 6 iOS 9 Release

At this point, it doesn't look like we'll see an iPhone 6 iOS 9 update land in August. Apple hasn't confirmed either way but with an iOS 8.4.1 update still in beta and an iPhone 6s release date rumored for next month, it's looking like Apple will stick to its "fall" time frame for the iOS 9 release

Fall starts on September 23rd. That doesn't mean that Apple will release the iOS 9 update on or after September 23rd though. It could come earlier than that. If you recall, Apple confirmed iOS 8 for the fall and it arrived on September 17th.

With an iPhone 6s release window showing September 8th-September 28th, we're probably going to see the iOS 9 release for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus fall in that time frame. We recently put together a list of things we expect from iOS 9, take a look at it if you want your expectations set for you.

Apple just released its fifth iOS 9 beta, dubbed iOS 9 beta 5, for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The update comes two weeks and two days after the last iOS 9 beta. Apple's stuck to a pretty tight release pattern here so the next iOS 9 beta should come in late August.

The latest iOS 9 beta brings several changes including 15 brand new backgrounds to use with the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus. It also removes some older backgrounds. iOS 9 beta 5 also brings a ton of bug fixes for iOS 9 problems along with it.

Now that we're closing in on the fall and the iOS 9 release date, if you're at all interested in trying the iOS 9 beta on the iPhone 6, now's probably the time. It's fairly stable and it's packing a ton of features. We can't say for sure but iOS 9 beta 5 will probably be one of the last betas before public release.
