on

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 release is confirmed and it will be coming to shelves in the near future. With a release on the horizon, we take a look at everything prospective buyers need to know about the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 release date for carriers in the United States and regions around the world.

After months of rumor and speculation, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is finally here to replace the Galaxy Note 4. Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Note 5 at its Unpacked event in New York City today confirming the elephant in the room for the very first time.

As expected, Samsung has loaded up the Galaxy Note 5 with some powerful specifications that include a 5.7-inch Quad HD display, brand new S Pen, 16MP rear camera, wireless charging, fast charging, and a beautiful premium design that puts the device on par with the Galaxy S6 and the iPhone.

Note-5

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 5 launch date came early this year and that had many thinking that the Galaxy Note 5 release date would come early as well. As it turns out, our suspicions were on point and the Galaxy Note 5 will be hitting shelves in some regions much earlier than Apple’s rumored iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

With the smoke around the Galaxy Note 5 launch beginning to settle, we want to take a look at what prospective Galaxy Note 5 buyers need to know about the Galaxy Note 5 release date. Samsung’s plans this year are a little different so keep these in mind as we approach the Galaxy Note 5 release date.

Galaxy Note 5 Release Date

The first Samsung Galaxy Note 5 release date will be August 21st but it appears that Samsung won’t be releasing the device in all regions that day.

It appears that the Galaxy Note 5 release date will land in August for the U.S. and Asian markets but might not come to some places in Europe until next year.

According to Samsung and Trusted Reviews, the Galaxy Note 5 release date in the UK won’t arrive this year. Samsung says that it will continue to evaluate the release which means that there could be a UK Galaxy Note 5 release down the road. Samsung’s focus, at this point, appears to be on the North American and Asian markets.

AT&T Galaxy Note 5

As expected, AT&T will be carrying the Galaxy Note 5 on its shelves and it will be releasing the Galaxy Note 5 much earlier than previous Galaxy Note models.

The AT&T Galaxy Note 5 release date will land on August 21st though buyers who are interested in picking the phone up before then will be able to buy the phone starting today.

At 3PM, the AT&T Galaxy Note 5 will go up for pre-order ahead of its late August release. AT&T will be charging $250 for a 32GB model and $350 for a 64GB on-contract. AT&T will charge $739.99 for the 32GB without a contract and $839.99 without a contract.

AT&T recently increased its activation fee for two-year contracts to $45 and it also added a $15 AT&T Next upgrade fee. Keep those in mind as we push towards the AT&T Galaxy Note 5 release date.

Sprint Galaxy Note 5

Sprint is also confirmed to be getting the Galaxy Note 5 and it appears that its release will mirror AT&T’s.

The Sprint Galaxy Note 5 release date will, like AT&T’s, land on August 21st. Again, this is much earlier than usual and it comes well before Apple’s rumored iPhone 6s Plus launch event. Apple will reportedly be hosting a launch event on September 9th though the company hasn’t sent out invites just yet.

Sprint will start taking pre-orders for the Galaxy Note 5 today starting at 3PM and it’s outlined a few other important details ahead of sales.

The carrier says that pre-orders will begin shipping tomorrow, August 14th, a week before the device hits shelves in retail locations. Sprint also says that customers and pre-orderers will get:

  • A guaranteed $200 minimum credit when they trade in a working smartphone.
  • Early upgrade at 12 months.
  • Free Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 with activation and a new two-year service agreement.

Sprint will be charging the same $250/$350 on-contract for the 32GB and 64GB models and $720 (32GB) and $816 (64GB) off-contract.

T-Mobile Galaxy Note 5

T-Mobile’s Galaxy Note 5 didn’t cruise through the FCC ahead of today’s launch date but we expected the carrier to offer the fifth-generation model.

The T-Mobile Galaxy Note 5 is confirmed and it looks like it will be joining its fellow U.S. carriers in releasing the device on August 21st ahead of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

T-Mobile-Note-5

Those interested in registering can register for the T-Mobile Galaxy Note 5 online through its website. The company is offering a free year of Netflix to those that register by August 20th and buy the phone by September 30th.

The company won’t be offering the Galaxy Note 5 on-contract and like the other U.S. carriers, it will only be offering the Galaxy Note 5 in two storage sizes, 32GB and 64GB.

U.S. Cellular Galaxy Note 5

The U.S. Cellular Galaxy Note 5 release is also confirmed and it looks like it will be releasing its latest flagship device onto shelves a little bit earlier than usual.

Like the others, it will be releasing the Galaxy Note 5 on August 21st. For those that aren’t familiar with past Galaxy Note releases, know that this is weeks earlier than usual. In the past, U.S. carriers like U.S. Cellular have released the Galaxy Note 5 in late September, October and even November.

Pre-orders for the U.S. Cellular Galaxy Note 5 should start soon giving those who call the nation’s fifth largest carrier home a chance to order the phone ahead of its release date.

Verizon Galaxy Note 5

As expected, the Verizon Galaxy Note 5 release is also confirmed. Verizon is taking pre-orders for the Galaxy Note 5 starting today though it has yet to confirm the Galaxy Note 5 release date.

The 32GB Verizon Galaxy Note 5 off-contract will be $696 while the 64GB model will be $792. You’ll also be able to pay $29 per month for 24 months for the 32GB version or $33 per month for 24 months for the 64GB version.

Remember, Verizon recently changed up how it sells smartphones so you’ll want to be extremely careful during the pre-order process.

Other Carriers

The Galaxy Note 5 isn’t confirmed for any other U.S. carriers and it would appear that the Galaxy Note will once again be limited to major U.S. carriers.

Smaller regional and pre-paid carriers typically haven’t stocked the Galaxy Note series and that trend will continue it seems. There’s always a chance for a late announcement but we wouldn’t count on it at this point.

Retailers

In addition to carrier locations, the Galaxy Note 5 will be sold at a number of retailers in the United States including Samsung Experience Shops at Best Buy, Amazon, BestBuy.com, Costco, Sam’s Club, Target and select Walmart stores. Pricing will vary from carrier to carrier, retailer to retailer.

Galaxy Note 5 Hands-on

You will be able to go hands on with the Galaxy Note 5 in the days before its release. Starting tomorrow, 7,000 participating AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless and Samsung Experience Shops inside Best Buy locations will start showcasing the Galaxy Note 5 on shelves.

Per usual, not every store will have the Galaxy Note 5 on display and you’ll want to head here to make sure that your local stores are among those offering early access.

Galaxy Note 5 Accessories

And finally, those looking to pair a Galaxy Note 5 pre-order with Galaxy Note 5 accessories should know that several are already on sale ahead of the phone’s release in August.

Accessory makers Spigen and Urban Armor Gear are taking pre-orders for various Galaxy Note 5 accessories and we’ve seen several more emerge on Amazon in the past 48 hours.

We should continue to see more emerge as we get closer and closer to the Galaxy Note 5 release date in the United States and in other countries around the world.
