The first thing that you need to know about the iPad iOS 8.4.1 update is that we've been taking a look at its performance on the iPad Air and the iPad mini in the days since its release last Thursday. And what we've found is a capable update that will serve as a quality bridge between iOS 8.4 and Apple's iOS 9 upgrade. 

We'e been testing the update on the iPad Air and iPad mini 2 and we haven't found any major problems. Battery life is holding up, connectivity is strong, the UI is still extremely fast, and app performance has been nothing short of outstanding. We expect performance to hold on these devices in the weeks ahead. 

We haven't been able to take an extensive look at iOS 8.4.1 for iPad 2, iPad Air 2 or any of Apple's other slates so if you're in need of feedback, we suggest poking around Apple's discussion forums and social media to get details about performance.
