If you own a 16GB iPhone 6 or 16GB iPhone 6 Plus, here's an important reminder as we push towards the iOS 9 release. 

Apple used to make it difficult for 16GB iPhone and iPad users to install major iOS updates. No longer. The iOS 9 update won't be painless (we still expect there to be issues) but it's certainly going to be less of a hassle for those that don't have a lot of free space.

Instead of requiring 3+GB of free space like iOS 8, the iOS 9 update will only require 1.3GB of free space. That means that you won't have to delete a bunch of files in order to install the update Over-the-Air through settings. iOS 9 goes further than that though. 

The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus iOS 9 updates come with a new feature that will automatically delete and reinstall applications to make room for an iOS installation. So, when iOS 9.1 arrives, you probably won't have to do anything manually. 

You'll also be able to better manage when an iOS update installs. Now, you can schedule updates to install when you're sleeping or when you're not using your device. It's little things like that that make the iOS 9 update important.
