iPhone 6 iOS 9.1 Update This Year

Last year, Apple released its iOS 8.1 update much earlier than a typical x.1 update. The iOS 8.1 update, with Apple Pay, arrived in late October alongside new iPads. We expect Apple to do something similar this year with iOS 9.

iOS 9.1 is reportedly in development (and testing) and it could arrive alongside new iPads in October. Apple is rumored to have an iPad mini 4 and iPad Pro in the works for the fall and the expectation is that iOS 9.1 will arrive alongside them. 

This wouldn't be too surprising given Apple's shift to a release protocol that calls for multiple iOS x.x updates spread throughout the year. 

We'd expect iOS 9.1 to arrive this year for the iPhone 6 and we'd expect it to have more than just bug fixes on board.
