Apple listened to complaints about the iOS upgrade process and it's implementing some big changes with the iOS 9 release. First, it's trimmed down the amount of space needed to install iOS 9. It used to be that iPhone and iPad users needed 4GB of free space to install Over-the-Air through Settings. Now, you'll need less than 2GB to install iOS on your device. That's going to be big for 16GB users and even bigger for 8GB users. There's more to it though. Once you install iOS 9, you're going to be exposed to a new and improved iOS update process going forward. First off, iOS 9 will also be smart about installing updates. When a new iOS 9 update arrives, you'll be able to choose when to install the update. You can choose to install it during a break in your day or you can schedule an installation at night when you're asleep if that's what you want to do. iOS 9 also comes with a handy new feature that will automatically delete and reinstall applications when you need room to install an iOS upgrade. That's very exciting for those that don't have a lot of free space to work with. | |||||||||||||
