Celebrate Labor Day with GTA Online Cash & RP Bonuses

Video game developer Rockstar Games has a special surprise for any and every gamer who owns its GTA 5 game and plays GTA Online. Staring now and lasting through the holiday the GTA Online Labor Day Weekend Sale gets gamers huge discounts on flashy new rides and double the amount of cash they’d normally earn for certain activities.

Rockstar announced the GTA Online Labor Day Weekend Sales and 2X GTAS & RP event today on its Rockstar Newswire blog. The developer has handed out double rewards and cash in-game before; it handed out huge cash and experience bonuses this summer for players that completed its Heists missions. This Labor Day weekend is the first time since those Heist bonuses ended that players have been able to level up faster and earn more cash for doing things. More cash makes it easier to buy the latest gear and vehicles in the game. More experience unlocks new missions, weapons, vehicles and abilities.

Rockstar is rolling out different savings and bonuses for specific missions over the entire weekend. Starting today, September 4th, the GTA Online Labor Day Weekend Sales and 2X GTAS & RP event get 25% off all the personal aircraft that the game’s retailers have to offer. Completing an Air Race or Parachuting job nets users double the experience points to level up their character and double cash payouts.

On Saturday, September 5th, Rockstar is handing out 25% discounts on expensive vehicles sold by Legendary Motorsport. All land races will offer double the experience and double cash payouts.

Sunday, September 6th brings with it a 25% discount on boats and double the rewards for sea races. The entire event wraps up on Monday, September 7th, with deep discounts on weapons sold by Warstock Cache & carry. This is also another 25% discount and all death matches will give players double the bonuses.

To be clear, this discount applies to the entire the GTA Online Labor Day Weekend Sales and 2X GTAS & RP event is open to every person who has a GTA Online account. GTA Online is the free multiplayer experience included inside every copy of GTA 5. Presumably, this will be the last cash and bonuses event before Rockstar unveils what’s in GTA Online’s next major update.

A few weeks ago, Rockstar Games revealed that it’d release its Rockstar Editor video creator to Xbox One and PS4 users free of charge with its next update. In a post detailing what users can expect from the Editor, the developer also said that it had plans to add other things to the game too. As of yet, we have no idea what those extra things are. It’s been a while since Rocktar added Heists to GTA Online. To compete with newer games coming during the holiday season, the developer has to have new extras planned for players.

GTA Online is available on the Xbox One, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360 and Windows PCs. The Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PS4 require users to have an online subscription to Xbox Live Gold and PlayStation Network to play GTA Online. The PS3 and Windows PC versions don’t require a subscription to play online. Characters created in GTA Online for the PS3 and Xbox 360 can be transferred to the newer consoles in the same family. For example, Xbox 360 characters can be transferred to the Xbox One.

GameStop is selling the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of GTA Online for $29.99 new. Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game are still $54.99.
