iPhone 6s vs Galaxy S6: Design

As expected this year Apple released an "s" refresh. Meaning the new iPhone 6s looks identical to last years model. They did add a new rose gold (pinkish) color option, but visually the phone looks the same.

That's a good thing though. The iPhone 6s is one of the best looking phones available. It has that simple design users love, durable aluminum frame, and glass on the front. This year Apple did improve the aluminum to be more dense, a 7000 series aircraft grade aluminum to prevent #bendate from happening again. It still houses the TouchID fingerprint scanner inside the home button, a camera around back, and a sleek small design.

That said, Samsung completely changed gears in 2015. The new Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are their first truly premium smartphones. Made out of aluminum with glass on the front and back, vs the plastics they've used for years. It's the first Galaxy that can compete with or beat the iPhone design. We, and millions of owners, love it.

The back is no longer removable, and there's no longer a micro-SD slot to expand storage, but users get a premium design that has yet to be matched by any other Android manufacturer. It's on par with Apple, by itself.

In terms of the design we also have to mention the fingerprint scanner. The Galaxy S6 is just as good as Apple here. It's lighting fast, accurate, and works the same way yet it's in a smaller home button. This lets the Galaxy S6 have a bigger display but barely be physically bigger. The iPhone 6s is smaller though.

Samsung's fingerprint scanner unlocks the device, lets users pay for goods with Samsung Pay and soon Android Pay, login to websites, banking apps and more. It's extremely powerful, and does the same thing as Apple's TouchID. They're the best in the business. The curved design of the Galaxy S6 Edge needs to be tried first, before you buy, as it isn't the most comfortable thing to hold, but does have some fancy software features and such.

All said and done it's really hard to argue with either design. The iPhone 6s looks amazing, but so does Samsung's S6 covered in glass coming in Gold, White or Black. Personally I think the gold is awful, but some love it. The layered glass on back gives it a three-demensional look, too, which makes the black look metallic at times, which is a nice touch. It looks pretty neat.

The Galaxy Note 5 recently replaced my Galaxy S6 as a daily phone, but I do have an old iPhone 6 Plus that gets used on occasion. Both of these phones won't disappoint in terms of the design, and we can't really argue with anyone for choosing one over the other. They both have protruding cameras and premium build materials.

The key difference is that one runs iOS and the other runs Android. You USE the OS and the apps. You do NOT use the screen resolution and nobody notices the differences between these CPUs during actual USE of the device. If you say do, then you are a liar. It’s like the old days when Windows users bragged about their CPU being .25 ghz or whatever faster than a Mac. Give it a rest.

A 750p screen on the brand new iphone 6s and apple charges over $1000 for this top line flagship phone. Android budget phones have 750p screens. WoW!

Samsung is the kind of phone I have. I have an S5 and I actually think I will never need another phone in my life. VERY easy to use, the autocorrect is NEVER a problem, and the camera is wonderful!!! that plus expandable storage…you can get SD cards of different sizes at places like Best Buy. I walked into the store on the day that I was going to get my phone, ready to get the iPhone 5, but then I played with the Samsung and made a quick decision change. I’ve had my phone for over a year now and I never want to get rid of it. It’s perfect.

S6 is still much better than iPhone 6S with features like high resolution screen, fast charging through adaptive fast charger and even Samsung’s latest Note 5 support fast charging with fast wireless charger for Note 5. Samsung is way better than Apple.
