We still don't know the precise size of the iPhone iOS 9 update but just remember that you don't have to go crazy deleting stuff to free up space ahead of the update's release. 

If you own a 16GB iPhone 5, know that Apple's iOS 9 update will make it easy on you. The update should require about 1.3GB or so of free space to install. If you've been through an iOS release before, you know that this is a big deal.

iOS updates used to require upwards of 4GB of free space to install Over-the-Air. For someone that owns a 16GB model, that's a ton. 

If you're running out of room, use the weekend to delete some files that you no longer need on your phone. You won't need a ton of space to install iOS 9 but it never hurts to have a little extra available just in case. 

Reminder: You'll want to be connected to fast Wi-Fi connection when downloading the iOS 9 update, especially if you plan to download it during peak hours.
