Release Date & Price

Last but finally not least are two very important things, the price and release date. The current Nexus 6 is available on all major US carriers, and unlocked models have dropped to $349 and even $369 for the 64GB model as of late. That's nearly 50% off, as it was $699 when it debuted last year.

The new Nexus 6P will be announced on September 29th by Google, and we're hearing it will go up for pre-order the same day. Some suggest an early October release date, before the 15th, which would make this one of the fastest Nexus phones launches to date.

We're also hearing the new Nexus 6P could retail for around $449 at the lowest, but the aluminum model may cost more. Google wants to stay under $500 according to some anonymous sources, but we'll have to wait and see. We've heard $399 and $449 for the Nexus 5, so it's logical to expect the 32GB option will be $499, $549 for 64GB, and $599 for the 128GB Nexus 6P. These are only guesses at this point.

Stay tuned for more details, as it will all be official in just a few more days.
