Step 4: Make Sure Your Files & Data Are Backed Up

Before you install your Nexus Marshmallow update, you're going to want to ensure that all of your files and data are backed up. We don't anticipate widespread installation issues but we almost always see some problems emerge so you'll want to be ready.

You’ll want to ensure that Auto Backup is turned on for your important files. To make sure this is in effect, head over to Google’s website. It offers in-depth Auto Backup tutorials that will ensure that your precious files will be stored safely.

We've also put together tutorials on how to properly backup Android and how to automatically backup photos on Android.  Both should help you get the job done.
