Samsung Galaxy Marshmallow Release Date

Samsung hasn't confirmed any upcoming Galaxy Marshmallow releases or release dates. There's talk of a release by the early part of 2016 but that remains unconfirmed. (A release in 2015 does make sense though given that HTC/Motorola are expected to deploy upgrades before the end of the year.)

The company's reportedly just begun work on major updates for its flagship phones. If those updates are Android 6.0, and they might be, it could be weeks before we see Samsung's Android Marshmallow release hit Galaxy devices.

Android release dates are dependent on the development and testing process. A month ago, Samsung reportedly had yet to begin working on Marshmallow. If that's true, we might only be a few weeks into the update's development process.

Each update is different but development and testing both take time, more than two weeks, so we wouldn't expect Samsung to start its Android 6.0 roll out tomorrow.

T-Mobile hasn't confirmed any timing for its Android Marshmallow updates.

Since Samsung releases so many devices, it’s kind of understandable why they’re slow/hesitant to provide timely updates. I remember when Samsung said the Note 2 would get upgraded to 5.0… and that never happened.. so I’m not really holding my breath with my Note 4, but if it does come I don’t expect it to be until around 2016 and I’m sure it would be the only major update given for that phone.
