Nexus 6P vs LG G4: Specs

Of course a big question for any potential buyer is the specs, or features any particular phone delivers. These are two impressive phones with a lot to offer. LG wins in a few important areas, like having a micro-SD slot to expand storage and a great camera, but surprisingly the Nexus 6P has more to offer in almost every way.

Nexus 6P Specs

  • 5.7-inch 2560 x 1440 Quad-HD AMOLED Display
  • 8-core Snapdragon 810 processor with 3GB of RAM
  • 32/64/128GB storage (no micro-SD slot)
  • Android 6.0 Marshmallow
  • 12.3 Megapixel Camera (1.55 um), Laser auto-focus, 240 FPS Slow-motion, more
  • 8 Megapixel front
  • Rear Fingerprint Scanner
  • Dual front-facing speakers
  • 3,450 mAh battery
  • Fast Charging
  • USB Type-C port
  • Aluminum Design

LG G4 Specs
  • 5.5-inch 2560 x 1440 Quantum HD Display
  • 6-core Snapdragon Processor with 3GB of RAM
  • 32GB of storage and a micro-SD Slot (free 32GB SD card from LG too)
  • 16 Megapixel rear camera with laser auto-focus and optical image stabilization
  • 8 Megapixel Wide-angle front selfie camera
  • Android 5.1 Lollipop
  • IR Sensor for Remote Control
  • 6 Genuine Leather backs, three plastic colors
  • 3,000 mAh battery

As you can see above the phones are somewhat similar, but aside from the higher megapixel front and rear camera, micro-SD, and leather backs, the Nexus 6P simply delivers more.

Google's Nexus 6P comes in a similar size but has a slightly bigger 5.7-inch display, dual front-facing speakers, an aluminum design, and a much much bigger battery, which will be key for many buyers.

Add in fast wireless charging, a more powerful 8-core processor (vs 6-core with the LG G4) and a fingerprint scanner, and the Nexus 6P wins here. Of course, everyone uses a phone differently, so a micro-SD and IR sensor could sway buyeys LG's way. It's all about what you, the buyer, needs.

No wireless charging. Who cares? A plug-in charger out performs a wireless charger any day.

The LG G4’s camera software is so much better.
