The team at 2K Sports upgrades the commentary with a three-man team that includes John "Bradshaw" Layfield who joins Michael Cole and Jerry "the King" Lawler that includes thousands of new lines and side-by-side recordings to get more authentic commentary and interactions.

WWE 2K16 includes "several thousand new animations," to kick off the visual upgrades. There are also changes to the WWE Superstar and Diva appearance with a new cloth physics system that makes clothing look more realistic. There is more variation in the crowd and in the game you will notice upgraded sweat, hair and hair physics.

There are also changes to the presentation with panning shots of the crowd instead of loading screens and changes to help the flow of the match.
