The iOS 9.2 update is here but we don't have an official iOS 9.2 release date for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. And there's a good chance that we won't see one emerge ahead of time.

Apple doesn't confirm iOS release dates in blog posts. Instead, it confirms them on stage when it announces new hardware. With no Apple media event in sight, the iOS 9.2 release could arrive out of nowhere, just like the iOS 9.1 update did last week. 

If and when Apple releases an iOS 9.2 beta 5, you'll know that we're close to a public release. Apple has historically stopped releasing beta updates after beta 5.
