DROID Turbo 2 vs Moto X Pure Edition: 5 Key Differences

Customization

No smartphone can be customized as much as the Moto X, until now. Motorola has something called MotoMaker, which allows users to customize the color of the aluminum frame, the front, the back, accent colors, engravings, and even choose from leather, wood, or soft plastic for the back of the phone. It's impressive, and something many buyers love.

However, for the first time ever, the new DROID Turbo 2 is getting some of the same options. Buyers can choose from three colors for the aluminum frame, white or black for the front, and tons of options around back. The DROID Turbo 2 doesn't have engravings, as it'll have "DROID" branded around back. However, owners can pick from multiple soft-touch plastic backs, horoween leather like the Moto X, or ballistic Nylon, which was very popular on the original DROID Turbo. There's no wood option, but it's still highly customizable.

The Moto X has a few more choices, but the Turbo 2 has something special, called Design Refresh.

Those who get the 64GB DROID Turbo 2 will have the option to send it back and change it out for a "design refresh" and customize another phone with different colors, textured, materials and more. Once during a 2-year cycle while owning the device. This is huge. If the leather starts to wear, or you don't like the plastic, send it back and try the nylon or something different. Verizon is likely footing the bill for this, not Motorola, and it's something that no other phone can offer.

These are two of the most customizable smartphones on the planet, and Motorola took things a step further with the DROID Turbo 2. Get one, customize it, and try something different later if you'd like. You can't go wrong.
