on

Microsoft, makers of the Xbox One and Xbox 360 has only a few cards left to play this holiday season. It spent the early fall delivering exclusives like Forza 6 and Halo 5: Guardians. Now it plans to walk away with higher sales than in years past with a New Xbox One Experience software update and Rise of The Tomb Raider. The new software update is exciting, but Rise of The Tomb Raider is where all the attention is.

Rise of the Tomb Raider leaves the tropical setting of Tomb Raider behind for the frigid wilderness of Siberia, Russia. Having survived the last game’s adventure, Lara is circling the world, looking for artifacts and discovering mythical powers she once scoffed at her father for pursing. Crafting is more important than it’s ever been before. A day and night cycle makes even venturing away from camp at night a dangerous, but sometimes necessary ordeal. Croft is looking for the secret to internal life; she won’t stop until she finds it.

Rise of the Tomb Raider

The Rise of the Tomb Raider release date is almost here. Here’s what you need to know now if you plan on picking up the game.

Rise of the Tomb Raider Release Date

The Rise of the Tomb Raider release date is November 10th. On that day, Xbox One and Xbox 360 users will be able to pick up a copy of the game in stores or online directly through the Xbox Store. Microsoft is publishing Rise of the Tomb Raider, keeping the release to itself for a year’s time. The game will come to Windows PCs and Sony’s PS4, but not until 2016.

The Different Editions of Rise of the Tomb Raider

Rise of the Tomb Raider Standard

Physical copies of Rise of the Tomb Raider sell for $59.99 at GameStop, Wal-Mart and other stores that carry games. Anyone who purchases the base game will need to install the game on their hard drive before they can play. Microsoft has a digital standard edition copy of Rise of the Tomb Raider available directly through the Xbox Store too.

Rise of the Tomb Raider will only cost $49.99 on the Xbox 360. Presumably, that’s because it’s a less robust game than what users get on Xbox One.

Rise of the Tomb Raider Collector’s Edition

Unfortunately, Rise of the Tomb Raider Collector’s Edition is available on in the Square Enix Store, and only for the Xbox One.
