The Xbox One Elite Wireless Controller has been out for a few weeks now but it’s still extremely difficult to find thanks to stock shortages. Retailers like Amazon and Best Buy remain sold out of the unique controller and it’s not clear when stock will return.

What is clear is that Xbox One users are going to have a difficult to time finding the Xbox One Elite Controller, or the Xbox One Elite Bundle, in time for Black Friday and the rest of the holiday shopping season.

The controller is hard to track down but those looking to avoid exorbitant Xbox One Elite Controller prices on sites like eBay do have some options. We’ve seen stock emerge in November and we’re bound to see new stock emerge in the near future. It’s just a matter of tracking it down.

We don’t know when GameStop, Best Buy or Amazon will stock the Xbox One Elite Controller again but there are some ways to ensure that you’ll have a fighting chance if and when these retailers, and others, start offering it again.

If you want to find an Xbox One Elite Controller for $150, you’re going to have to be fast, at least until Microsoft is able to make enough to cover demand. There are a few days to unearth stock online and in your area.

First, you’ll want to get familiar with Now In Stock if you haven’t already. The site tracks online inventory at popular retailers and it will tell you when a controller is in stock.

The Elite Controller was in stock at Target a few minutes ago though it was only on sale for a few seconds before it disappeared. This is why you’ll want to set up alerts.

Instead of checking the site every five minutes for updates, you can set up alerts that send you an email, text or browser notification when the Xbox One Elite Controller is in stock. This will allow you to jump on any online stock at Microsoft, Target, and others.

In order to do this, you will need to register an account at Now In Stock. These are free, other than carrier text message charges, and they are the best way to get your hands on a controller if you don’t want to leave the house.

If you wish to go through Amazon, you can order the controller right now and the company will deliver whenever it becomes available. It will email you an estimated delivery date as soon as it has concrete information and it won’t charge your card until it ships.

If you don’t mind leaving your house, you have another option and it could get the Elite Controller in your hands quicker.

You will also want to keep an eye on resellers though we continue to see Xbox One Elite Controller prices in the $200-300 range, far more expensive than its $150 price.

It’s worth noting that you can use these same tools with the Xbox One Elite Bundle. GameStop is the only third-party retailer in the U.S. selling the bundle so you’ll want to keep a close eye on stock as we approach Black Friday and the holidays.
