Electronics maker LG is hoping to lighten the load of notebook owners the world over with the new LG Gram 15Z960. Revealed at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week, The LG Gram’s claim to fame is its astonishing lack of girth.

LG showed off the looks and feel of the LG Gram 15Z960 at CES 2016 earlier this week. It’s at the show each year that Windows 10 device makers announce new notebooks, desktops and 2-in-1s influenced by the latest buying trends. Making a device as light as possible is definitely this year’s trend. The LG Gram 15Z960 delivers that.

The LG Gram has a 15.6-inch HD IPS display that has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Normally, a display that size would require some heft, but the device weighs just 2.16 pounds or 7 grams. From top to bottom, the magnesium alloy clad LG Gram 15Z960 measures just .66 inches from top to bottom. The LG Gram borrows from Apple’s MacBook family of notebooks too. LG showed off a gold model that looks strikingly similar to the gold metal casing that Apple users on its latest laptops and iPhones.

There’s a single USB 3.0 port, HDMI out port for connecting to displays, headphone jack, microSD card slot and a USB Type-C port. It’s because of the near bezel-free display that LG has moved the device’s high-definition web camera to the hinge embedded on the LG Gram 15Z960.

Every LG Gram 15Z960 will include a 6th Generation Intel Core i5 or i7 processor, which makes sense when you consider how thin and light the device is. Intel built the new generation of Core processors to be more power efficient and produce less heat.

LG isn’t saying how much the LG Gram 15Z960 will cost or exactly when it’ll be available. Potential buyers can setup availability notifications on LG’s website.
