Always Remember What You Were Doing When You Quit

If you're prone to going for long stretches without playing Fallout 4, it would be a good idea to jot down a few notes after you're done playing.

I have a note on my iPhone that's dedicated to Fallout 4 and I always make note of what I was doing right before I quit. This way, I don't pick up the game and spend 20 minutes trying to figure out what I was trying to get done.

This kind of ruined Skyrim for me. I stopped playing for a month, picked it up and had literally no idea what I was doing when I left off. Made it less enjoyable.

If I had written a few notes down, I would've been able to jog my memory, get on the right path again, and enjoy the game.

If you don't want to spend time writing notes down, my advice is get whatever it is that you're doing done and then go to your main settlement to save. (Don't save in the middle of a dungeon or when you're on your way to complete a task.) This way, you'll be working with a clean slate every time you fire the game up.
