The iPad iOS 9.2.1 update’s reign continues as we push through February and today we want to take an updated look at the most important things to know about Apple’s latest update for iPad with Retina, iPad Air, and iPad mini.

In December, Apple confirmed plans to release an iOS 9.2.1 update for the iPad. The iOS 9.2.1 beta revealed a number of important details about the iPad’s iOS 9.2.1 update (features, the devices getting it) but it didn’t reveal a specific release date.

In mid-January, after several weeks of testing, Apple released the iPad iOS 9.2.1 update and it’s now available for all iPad models capable of running the iOS 9 operating system.

With the dust from the release starting to settle a little bit, we want to take a look at the most important things to know about the iPad iOS 9.2.1 update today as we move away from the release date.

This roundup looks at the iOS 9.2.1 jailbreak iOS 9.2.1 performance, and some of the smaller details that are sometimes easy to miss. Keep these in mind as we push into February toward Apple’s next iOS 9 update.

iPad iOS 9.2.1 Update Review

We've been using the iOS 9.2.1 update on three versions of the iPad: The iPad Air 2, the original iPad Air, and the iPad mini 2. We've been using the updates for several weeks now and we recently published our thoughts on performance.

The iOS 9.2.1 update is performing well on this trio of iPads save for a few annoying issues on the aging iPad mini 2.

Battery life is excellent across the board. Wi-Fi is fast and reliable. So is Bluetooth. We haven't run into any experience-breaking bugs and all of our apps are running fine with iOS 9.2.1 on board.

While the iPad Air 2 and iPad Air UIs are both fast and fluid, we've noticed that the iPad mini 2 stutters when using a swipe to open up Control Center and the Notification Center. We've also noticed occasional keyboard lag.

If you own a newer iPad on iOS 9, you should be fine with iOS 9.2.1. If you're on an older iOS update or you own an older iPad, you'll want to be a little more careful with iOS 9.2.1.

Hoping to read a follow-up review on the iPad Mini 2. Updated mine to iOS 9 and it’s been lagging ever since. That’s why I never bothered to update it to 9.1 or 9.2.

I just updated iPad mini 2 to 9.2.1. In safari, when I click on the address bar to type, Safari crashes. Not seeing any other reviews with this problem. Can I undo the upgrade? How do I send feedback to Apple?

I don’t know if it’s a coincidence but after the update to my iPad mini 2, my Fitbit app no longer works. I can’t even delete it and dl the app again. The same goes for my Chrome app. Both of these apps are grayed out. Chrome says “Installing (it won’t) and the Fitbit app says “Loading” but goes to about 60% then stops. SO frustrating. Everything seems to be running slower than normal too. Any way I can restore things to the previous iOS?

    Split Keyboard — Simple Fix:

Step 1- Open Settings app on your iOS device.

Step 2- Next up, tap on General.

    Step 3- Tap on Keyboards

Step 4- Up next, turn off the Split Keyboard toggle

Downloaded latest iOS and updated Chrome App on my Ipad2. Only chrome app keeps saying installing but never does. I tried to delete the app and it won’t delete. I thought I would reload it. Fix needed asap.

What do you mean by saying that people with older iPads need to be careful with iOS 9.2.1 ?
What are the know problems ?
Is it best to stay with an older version like 8. ?
