Outer Rim Star Wars Battlefront DLC: 5 Reasons to Get Excited

Published

on

Ahead of the Outer Rim Star Wars Battlefront DLC release date we want to take a look at the changes we’re most excited about.

In January, EA and DICE finally announced their Star Wars Battlefront DLC plans. The plans came with some names, release windows and a few other promises.

As the year’s gone on, EA DICE has started talking more about its upcoming DLC add-ons and the first expansion, Outer Rim, is starting to come together as the company prepares it for Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC.

Outer-Rim-Jabba

The Outer Rim is the first paid expansion for Star Wars Battlefront and it’s set to arrive sometime later on this month. The announcement didn’t outline a specific release date leaving those details for yet another announcement.

Remember, Star Wars Battlefront Season Pass holders will get access to EA’s Outer Rim content two weeks before everyone else. That could mean a release in April if Outer Rim’s release date falls in mid-to-late March.

We don’t have an Outer Rim release date to work with yet but the big announcement delivered some exciting new details about the upcoming DLC. EA DICE has also hinted at a few other features in the days since the announcement.

Today I want to touch on the Star Wars Outer Rim DLC details we’re most excited about. Keep these in mind if you’re still trying to decide if you want or need Outer Rim or the Star Wars Battlefront Season Pass.

Hutt Contracts

Hutt Contracts

EA DICE recently released a brand new video that highlights the free Star Wars Battlefront updates that just arrived for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

At the end of the trailer, the company teases something called Hutt Contracts. The video also shows Jabba looking at a weapon with the tagline "Unlock New Gear."

Might we see bounties that lead to various rewards? The company declined to get into detail about the contracts and says that it will have a write-up for gamers very soon.

With Outer Rim focused on Jabba and his palace, there's a chance these contracts will be deployed in and around the Outer Rim release date, something that would certainly add a bit more excitement to the content's release.

The trailer doesn't outline a date but says that they're "Coming Soon."

Given that they're mentioned in a video about free updates, our guess is that they will come to everyone, not just those who buy the Season Pass and the Outer Rim DLC.

Needless to say, we're extremely excited about the prospects.

So whats so exciting about releasing two re-skinned characters already included in the game now as “Heroes” into this DLC? If anything this should be labeled as LAZY and CHEAP… ohhh and btw… your articule title is very missleading, there little to nothing INCREDIBLE about this release.

      @Sledgehammer70,
Don’t be worried, you will enjoy playing as a clone

Your opinion. This update (free and paid) sound amazing! Battlefront (old ones and new one) is the best game(s) ever!

    Agreed pelon35.

Adam Mills, you are a fluff writing d-bag. This DLC is a lazy cash grab and very disappointing. This game has been a borderline disappointment from the beginning anyway. This DLC, and the next, should be free add-ons considering the small amount of content available at launch.

I’m afraid that lot’s of people are going to buy this DLC. Which EA will take as an excuse to continue to jip us of free content, and by “free content” I mean what should’ve been in the game to begin with that their trying to sell us in pieces.

So how much are they paying this guy to write this shit? I mean, I’m a fan of the game but come on…. This article is rediculous and annoying.

For the HEREO$ DLC, I don’t understand, why couldn’t they put old Obi-wan in there? obi-wan was in Episode 4 new hope.

God damn, this is getting more disappointing. I hope I didn’t spend $50 on the season pass for nothing.

Well keep in mind that there are 3 more DLC packs. I personally think that Obi Wan will be in the Death Star DLC because that’s where he is seen fighting in the original trilogy. I’m personally exited for this DLC pack, I understand why there is some hate, but it’s not that bad guys.

Greedo did not fight for the Empire in the film, he worked for Jabba The Hut

Even with the lack of content, I still think battlefront is the best shooter game out now. The smoothness, the graphics, the mechanics, and sound are all brilliant. I have all the new games the are out and even though I’m maxed out rank in Battlefront, it’s still my daily go-to game.

I also am a consistent Battlefront player and am hyped about the update just because of the new maps and new game mode, the heroes are a nice add-on but yes they could have done better regarding that aspect.

Neither of these characters are deserving of a slot, greedo never worked for the empire and there are just too many rebels more deserving that nien numb, if its bouty hunters for the empire, bossk, dengar, ig-88, zuckuss and 4-lom would ALL make better and more interesting options, plus all four worked for the empire at some point, not to mention high ranking imperials that would be an improvement over greedo, like tarkin, veers etc, but in spite of all of that, greedo i can live with, as long as bossk makes it in, why? Because hes memorable, you know who isnt? His sullustan counterpart, why on alderaan would he be made playable instead of chewbacca, old ben, lando, wedge, even yoda, ackbar and jek bloody porkins would be better options than this sorry excuae for a memorable hero! Go to mustafar ea! And another thing, what happened to ‘no death star’ and ‘4 paid dlc planets’? So far all we’ve been promised from that is a death star lie and onw planet, bespin, where are my other 3 planets ea? Wheres yavin iv? I wanna battle inside the massassi temples! Wheres mon calamari? I wanna see some awesome aquatic levels! Wheres kashyyyk? Wouldnt that be the perfect release planet to introduce chewbacca!? LAZY GREEDY IMBECILES!

You sure aren’t happy. I am actually really excited for this one, and while the heroes could be a lot better, the weapons, modes and maps will be fun, as always. And I sure as shit know that the adrenaline stim will be fun
