Published

on

The Fallout 4 Wasteland Workshop DLC release date is here for many Xbox One, PS4 and PC users and these tips will help you get the second Fallout 4 DLC add-on installed successfully on your system of choice.

Last year, Bethesda promised to deliver free Fallout 4 updates, official Fallout 4 mods for console and Fallout 4 DLC. The company’s kept that promise.

We’ve seen numerous updates roll out (a huge Fallout 4 1.5 update is on the way) and we’ve seen the first Fallout 4 DLC emerge for all three platforms. Automatron arrived on schedule in March and today is Wasteland Workshop’s turn.

Wasteland-Workshop-3

Wasteland Workshop is the second of three announced Fallout 4 DLC add-ons. Several more are planned for later this year.

The second Fallout 4 DLC is a $5 add-on that allow you to design and set cages to capture live creatures. You can then pit these creatures, raiders and even settlers against each other in battle in your various settlements.

With the Wasteland Workshop release here for most people, we want to help get you prepare for a smooth download and get you right into those arenas.

Wasteland Workshop Release Time PS4, Xbox One & PC

Wasteland Workshop is already unlocked in Australia. That’s because it’s already April 12th in Australia. It’ll arrive a little later for those of you in North America and even later for those of you that live in Asia. Here is how the Wasteland Workshop release time, and release date, breaks down:

PC (Steam)

  • North America – April  12, 2016 at 12:01 AM (EDT)
  • Europe – April 12, 2016 at 12:01 AM local time
  • Asia – April 12, 2016 at 12:01 AM local time

Note that PS4 users in North America will unlock Wasteland Workshop at midnight, not 1PM on release day like Automatron.

Also note that the Wasteland Workshop in Asia, for consoles, is delayed until April 19th. Those with a PC will get Wasteland Workshop on April 12th.

Clean Up Your Hard Drive

Wasteland Workshop isn’t as big as Automatron but those of you that are nearing the threshold of your hard drive space will likely want to do a little cleanup before you download and install Wasteland Workshop. This is especially true if you haven’t downloaded the Fallout 1.4 update.

Wasteland Workshop is a small piece of DLC and here’s what it’ll require for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Sizes will vary based on platform and region.

PC: ~70MB.
• Xbox One: ~50MB.
• PlayStation 4: ~50MB.

For most of you, this won’t be a problem. For those of you with limited space, it might be.

If you’re planning to play ASAP and you’re running out of space, now would be a good time to start clearing out game files you no longer need. This way, you’ll be able to download and install Wasteland Workshop headache-free.

Also note that the recent Fallout 1.4 and PS4 1.05 patches deliver support for Wasteland Workshop. The 1.4 patch is over 2GB in size. If you haven’t downloaded it yet, you’re running out of space and you want to play Wasteland Workshop as soon as possible, make sure you clean up some space today.
