Awakening Black Ops 3 Gameplay Footage

The four-minute Black Ops 3 Awakening trailer features The Replacer who takes over the parts of your life that need attention so you can get back to your Call of Duty duties.

Tacked on to the end of the trailer is a minute and a half of the Awakening Black Ops 3 DLC gameplay footage in the new maps.

On Splash, we learn that you can go into Kraken’s revenge, pop out of waterslides and more. In Gauntlet we get a look at crowded urban warfare, airborne attacks in the snow and jungle surprises. The jungle is a major camping zone. On Rise the wallrunning opportunities stand out. Skyjacked shows off a deadly multi-level design that delivers a lot of mayhem even though not many players go below deck.

At the very end we see new Der Eisendrache gameplay featuring chopping gates, machine guns and lots of explosions.

The video above shows a look at the Skyjacked gameplay, to get a better idea of what this offers.

Awakening Black Ops 3 DLC Maps

There are four new Awakening Black Ops 3 maps. The video above offers an early look at these maps, including level map outlines, hints at how movement will work and the three lane system.

Gauntlet – Set in a military training environment with a snowy lane, jungle lane and urban lane.

Splash – Set in an abandoned water theme park. The paths include using slides to move around and underwater combat.

Rise – Set in a construction facility the developers describe it as a classic Call of Duty map that includes a lot of cover to cover based combat.

Skyjacked – Fast paced remake of Hijacked from Black Ops 2 that includes new options to make use of movement mechanics.

You can check out the slides at the bottom of this post or click on the links above for more details about each map.

Awakening Black Ops 3 DLC Zombies

Der Eisendrache is the name of the first Black Ops 3 Zombies DLC. This takes place in a medieval castle set n top of a very troubling mountain that is the site of many atrocities. This is Episode 4, and the first chapter in a time travel Zombie experience that will continue throughout the upcoming DLC.

There are massive deposits of Element 115 in this castle and the Awakening Black Ops 3 DLC adds four new kinds of Zombies Mega Gumballs for players to take advantage of.

We’ve learned that the team of four are back on a suicide mission, there is a dragon in the castle and zombies all over. Are you ready for the Awakening: Der Eisendrache?

10th Black Ops 3 DLC Specialist Easter Egg

In the Gauntlet Black Ops 3 map that is a part of the Awakening DLC there is an empty showcase or locker for an unannounced specialist. The video below outlines this rumor with some gameplay footage from The Gauntlet map.

The nameplate is scratched out, but there is a Jack of Spades card in the locker. This suggests there will be a new specialist that comes after the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 DLC.

The Jack of Spades connects back to the Body Armor Death Card from World at War. At this point that is our only lead so far. We think this is now connected to the Black Ops 3 DLC 2, not the Awakening DLC.

Check out more details on each of the Black Ops 3 maps and the new Der Eisendrache zombies experience.

Skyjacked Black Ops 3 Map Video & Details

The Skyjacked Black Ops 3 map is one of the remakes of a popular map from earlier Call of Duty games. Skyjacked is a reimaginign of the map Hijacked from Black Ops 2. Although this is not completely new, there are many changes to the map to enable the new movement options that Black Ops 3 delivers.

In the teaser for Awakening DLC, Dan Bunting, Game Director of Multiplayer at Treyarch tells us that this is the map that he is most excited about in the first set of Black OPs 3 DLC. It is, "fast, frentic and chaotic." according to Bunting.

The video above shows off a preview of the Skyjacked Black Ops 3 map with multiple vantage points of the map, that show off the cover, some of the lanes and the multi-level design.

There are many places to wallrun on Skyjacked and the preview offers a nice way to get an early look ahead of the full release and other public previews.
