Red Dead Redemption 2 Release: 5 Things to Know

Today, with new information swirling, we take a look at everything we know so far about the Red Dead Redemption 2 release.

2010’s Red Dead Redemption was the spiritual successor to Red Dead Revolver. The title garnered numerous awards and it’s considered, by many, to be one of the best video games of all time. So naturally, fans have been clamoring for a sequel.

Unfortunately Rockstar San Diego and Take-Two Interactive, the two companies behind the successful franchise, have yet to confirm a follow-up and a Red Dead Redemption 2 release remains out of reach for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One users.

While the game itself still isn’t confirmed, we’ve seen numerous rumors and potential hints emerge. Rockstar is known for taking its time to release games and there’s speculation that the companies could be working on something big behind the scenes.

Rockstar Teases New Games

In an earnings call on May 20th, Rockstar Games' parent company Take-Two Interactive teased new games, games that will reportedly be announced "soon". 

The company didn't go into detail about what those games might be but it says that Rockstar is "hard at work" behind the scenes.

As GameSpot notes, Take-Two president Karl Slatoff stated that the comapny is working on at least on new IP to diversify its portfolio. It's not clear if this new IP comes from Rockstar or another company under Take-Twos umbrella. 

With E3 2016 just a few short days away, and Red Dead Redemption 2 rumors swirling, it's safe to say the hype train is at the station waiting for its passengers.
