Disable or Customize the Always On Display

An excellent new feature on the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge is the Always-On Display. Keeping the screen on 24/7 in a low-power black and white state displaying the time, date and battery life. I love it, but it can be a distraction to some.

Here we'll explain how to customize it, or turn it off. Navigate to settings and find the same "Display" option as our last set of instructions. In here find the options titled "Always On Display" We can simply swipe the top and turn it off, or head to the bottom and customize it.

Samsung has options to add a screensaver, background images, a calendar, or even set "sleep times" where the always on display won't be on. Like at night where owners don't want it glowing while they're trying to sleep. Give it a try, or just turn it off.

However, studies show most users turn on a phone over 150 times a day, often just to check the time. This drains less than 5% battery life during an entire 8-hour work day, and will ultimately save you battery life, so we recommend keeping it on. To each his own though.

Can I also add my spouse to the fingerprint scan? So we’re both able to use the device?

Google Now gets it wrong so often that it is useless. When did you ever hear anyone use it? Never.

I normally do not leave comments, but thank you for this helpful list! It informed me on things I didn’t know my phone could do, such as the SOS feature.
