You can change the OnePlus 3 battery indicator in the notification shade to the option you like best. This includes the standard battery bar, a battery circle and the battery percent. You can also hide the battery indicator completely if you don't want to worry about your battery life.

Go to Settings -> Battery and then tap on the battery icon in the upper right near the menu. Choose the option you want to use.
