Battery Life & Charging

2016 will be a good year to get a new Samsung phone, because they finally figured out battery life is extremely important to owners. Unlike the mess we received last year, the Galaxy S7 and upcoming Note 7 are great in this department.

Rather than a small 2,550 mAh battery like the Galaxy S6, the Galaxy S7 las a large 3,000 mAh battery. The same size as the huge Galaxy Note 5. Meaning that small 5.1-inch phone lasts plenty long, and is more than capable.

Rumor has it the new Note 7 will employ a large 4,000 mAh or 4,200 mAh battery, although one leak said 3,600 but that seems doubtful. Add in the new reversible and faster USB Type-C charging port, and this phone will recharge fast.

Quick Charge 3.0 allows smartphones to recharge from 0-80% in around 35 minutes, which is just crazy. Meaning a quick drive home or top-off while you're getting ready will give you more than enough for an entire day, maybe even 2. This is what I'm most excited about.

The Galaxy S7 is pretty great in the battery life department but the Note 7 should be even better, have a new port and charge even faster. All good things.
