Apple already cut the price of the Apple Watch once this year, so it's very possible that we will not see a price drop on the Apple Watch this fall when the Apple Watch 2 release date arrives.
Since this is such a new product category it is tough to tell what will happen, but don't wait for the Apple Watch 2 just because you want a cheaper Apple Watch -- unless you plan to buy used or are ready to move fast. The latest report from Analyst Ming-Chi Kou suggests Apple could deliver a minor update to the existing models. If that happens this will likely be at the same price-point. Older models may go on sale to clear out stock, but you're better off buying new at that point or jumping on any back to school deals that chop more than $50 off the Apple Watch. |
