Check With IT

If you use your Android smartphone or tablet for work, you might want to check in with your IT department (if you have one) before you install the Android 7.1.2 update.

If you're lucky, your co-workers in IT have been using the Developer Preview and they'll be able to provide you with valuable feedback about the update.

Enterprise problems are extremely common after major Android releases and there's a chance Android 7.1.2 will wreck havoc on your apps and services. Your company's IT department could warn you about potential problems and give you guidance.

If you don't have an IT department, you might want to think about checking in with a knowledgeable co-worker that's using Android 7.1.2 Nougat. Pick their brain and see if they're encountering any issues with the new software.

First i’m an android newbie, have had android since day one but i don’t delve into the inner works at all. No side loading no beta testing, zilch. I just wait for the OTA access. Maybe i’m lucky but i have had NO problems or issues that i know of, since both my Pixel C and Nexus 6P have recieved the 7.0 nougat OTA. Still waiting on OTA update for Nexus 6 on project fi.
