You Can Still Downgrade to iOS 10.1

If you hate iOS 10.1.1's performance know that you aren't stuck.

If you want to get off the iOS 10.1.1 update you can drop back down to the iPhone 7's iOS 10.1 update for a limited time.

Note that you can no longer downgrade to iOS 10.0.1, iOS 10.0.2 or iOS 10.0.3. Apple permanently closed up those loopholes in October.

The iOS 10.1 loophole will probably be open for a few more days before closing up. Apple won't make an official announcement so you'll need to move quickly if you want to get back to the older version of iOS 10.

For more on the downgrade process take a look at our guide.

My 10.0.3 update seems to be stuck. I’ve been waiting at least 10 minutes for it to finish, and so far, all it has done is flash the apple logo at me every couple of seconds and then go black again. Because it seems to have made NO progress, and it’s a small update, I tried to power the phone offhand now I see the apple and a status bar. It’s still taking a while, but it looks like it might actually be working correctly now. (I might as well wait to see what it does since it’s almost finished now, so I can update you). Now, the screen is black, which I expected. I have the booting-up apple agin. Okay. . . back to the apple with a status bar. That has taken about 2 minutes. Now I can put in my passcode! :) And all seems well! FINALLY!!!!! (My husband left to take a shower a good bit AFTER I started the update, and he has finished his shower. However, my phone IS now working again, but that was very scary.

Just wanted to share that because my experience was so different from yours! Oh, I have an iPhone 7+ (that I just received last night!)

My phone battery drains extremely quickly after the iOS update…. I have an iPhone 7 and have just been using it for about a week,,, any solution? or just have to wait for the software to settle in as said in the article? :(

Oh. . . my problems might have been due to the case I had on the phone. I later discovered that the case was pressing on the power button enough that the phone was trying to (seemingly) randomly reboot. It made the home button have issues as well. Once I took the phone out of the case, everything worked fine. (That’s about the time that the update began to work correctly as well). I have since been able to stretch the part of the case that was touching the power button enough to make the case work.
