If you're new to the Battlefield series we highly recommend jumping into the Campaign mode when you can. It's impressive and it will show you the ropes.
Battlefield 1's single-player campaign is an amazing tutorial that will help you hone your skills without the fear of getting mauled by expert players on the enemy team. You can use it to get familiar with some of the games weapons, grenade throwing, piloting planes, and driving tanks. Knowing the strengths and weaknesses of gadgets, weapons and vehicles will help you when you jump into the real deal online.

You should add to your list-
“Don’t camp.”
Controlling objectives, helping teammates and killing opponents (and dying because medics get points for healing you and therefore your squad gets points for heals) is more valuable than waiting for 3-6 guys too roll in unexpectedly.
