5 Best Whole Home WiFi Setups to Fix Slow Internet

Published

on

Whole home WiFi systems allow you to connect to the internet at home without lag, without errors and without wasting money using your cell phone data plan while you are at the edges of your home or apartment.

Sometimes called Mesh WiFi, these entire home WiFi systems are designed to install in multiple places in your home instead of only in the one place that is close to where your home Internet comes into the house.

If you are sick of bad WiFi performance at home that doesn’t let you game in the basement or stream movies in your bedroom, this could be the perfect solution for you.

At CES 2017 we are seeing many new whole home WiFi solutions that can dramatically change how you use all of your devices at home.

Keep in mind that if you decide to buy a whole home WiFi system it will be a bigger investment than a $50 router that you may have purchased in the past.

Unlike WiFi repeaters that are complicated to set up and often unreliable, a whole home WiFi network works seamlessly right out of the box.

Here are the best whole home WiFi networks that can solve your WiFi problems;

  • Linksys Velop
  • D-Link Covr
  • Google WiFi
  • Eero
  • Netgear Orbi

There are many different options and companies that you can choose to get rid of WiFi problems and slow Internet in your home. In addition to covering more of your house and yard, a whole WiFi system can also help you get the speeds you pay for from your Internet provider.

Here are the best whole home WiFi networks that you can buy to game, stream and surf the web better in 2017.

Linksys Velop

Linksys Velop

Linksys Velop is a new whole home WiFi network that you can place throughout your home to deliver fast internet to every room through multiple floors and even to the patio and yard.

You can buy Velop in one, two or three-pack bundles that allow you to make sure your home is covered and that you can upgrade if you move to a bigger place or start using another room more often for gaming or streaming as your family grows up.

The video below walks through the Velop system and what it is capable of.

Even with different home types and sizes, the Velop will meet your needs. Linksys recommends one node for apartments, two to three nodes for long, multistory or brick homes.

You can also control Velop with Amazon Alexa to turn on the guest WiFi network and to share the password directly with users so that it is simple to connect friends while still keeping your network secure.

Linksys Velop starts at $199 for a one pack and is available in a two pack for $349 and a three pack for $499.

And a 10 pack 100-feet long ethernet cable runs about $50, and more reliable. I don’t care about convenience but reliability.
