New Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4 KitKat update details have emerged today and they include information about the elusive but upcoming Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4 KitKat release date.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4 KitKat update has been confirmed for arrival though Samsung still hasn’t said when owners can expect the start of the highly anticipated roll out. Most carriers remain silent about the Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4 KitKat update which means that many owners are still in the dark about their future.

Fortunately, details are continuing to trickle out and today we’ve seen three new Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4 KitKat details emerge including specific release date information for a carrier in Europe.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4 KitKat has emerged inside of a GFX Benchmark for the SHV-E250, a Korean version of the Galaxy Note 2 that resides on Korean carrier KT. This all but confirms the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for arrival at some point in Korea. Owners on other Korean Galaxy Note 2 variants should expect the update as well.

We’ve also seen two carriers release Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4 KitKat update details today. Optus, an Australian carrier that originally said that it would be rolling out the Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4 KitKat update in early-to-mid April, now says that it has no ETA for the update and that it currently does not have the software in for testing. Testing typically takes a few weeks to complete.

Finally, French carrier SFR has not only confirmed the Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4 KitKat update but it has given users a release date target. The European carrier says that it will be releasing the Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4 KitKat update in the month of May. It does not offer users a specific target date, only a target month.

This is standard protocol for carriers that like to keep their customers as informed as Android software update testing can sometimes alter specific target release dates.

In the United States, Sprint remains the only carrier to confirm a Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4 KitKat update for arrival. Historically, U.S. carriers remain silent all the way up until an update’s release date which means that Galaxy Note users in the United States should not be expecting specific details to arrive ahead of time.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4 KitKat update is expected to deliver Android 4.4 KitKat update features to Galaxy Note 2 owners and not much else. The update should follow in the footsteps of Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4 Android 4.4 KitKat updates, both of which have been rolling out for several weeks now.

Samsung’s Galaxy S3 Android 4.4 KitKat update is expected to join the Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4 KitKat update but so far, carriers have been silent about its release. Sprint is the only major carrier that has confirmed a Galaxy S3 Android 4.4 KitKat update for arrival.
