If you're new to the Battlefront series, if you were disappointed by the last game, or if you simply like to get hands-on before you buy an expensive video game, you might want to wait until June or longer.

In June, EA will allow EA Play attendees to play a demo of Star Wars Battlefront 2. If you live in Los Angeles or if this sounds interesting to you, you might want to signup for a ticket once they go live on April 20th.

We don't know how much of the game will be playable, we assume it won't be the full game, but this is still a good chance to go hands-on with the game and its content well ahead of its release date. And it could help you make a decision about whether to buy it before or after its release.

If you can't make it to EA Play, you can learn about the game from those who are able to attend. We expect detail impressions about gameplay to emerge in June and that feedback will be valuable to those of you on the fence about a pre-order.

Nothing is confirmed but we expect EA DICE to release a Star Wars Battlefront 2 beta sometime after the demo in June.

In 2015, DICE released a Star Wars Battlefront beta in October, a few weeks ahead of the game's street date. Don't be surprised if we see something similar with Battlefront 2.

If a beta is released it will be free to all Xbox One, PS4 and PC owners. It will also help you come to a decision about whether to put in an early order.
