Motorola says that it will be coming out with a new Moto X, possibly in the summer, but until that day arrives the current Moto X will remain one of the best smartphone options on Android.

This is a smartphone that was one of the pleasant surprises of 2013. Motorola, which had released phones with virtually no imagination for a number of years, pulled a rabbit out of the hat with this one.

The Moto X combines solid hardware, smart software that is frankly the best that Android has to offer, along with tons of carrier options, a fantastic price tag and design customization. It's the whole package and that's a big reason why it's one this list.

Some good phones here, but no LG G2? 5.2″ IPS display, as “edge-to-edge” screen as it gets, Snapdragon 800 Quad, 13MP camera with OIS, 3000mAh battery, knock-on, IR blaster, etc.
