Sony Xperia Z3 Compact

Sony Xperia Z3 Compact

Rumor has it a new Xperia Z4 compact is coming sometime in August, but for now the Xperia Z3 is probably the best bang for your buck. It was a surprisingly great phone last year, and is still one of the best small phones right now.

It has a wonderful 4.6-inch 720p HD display, and everything about this phone is built to impress. It has a powerful quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, it's waterproof, takes a micro-SD slot for storage expansion, and even has a 20.7 megapixel camera. It's a flagship phone that isn't massive.

This is one compact yet powerful smartphone that should be on all buyers radar. To make things even better, the initial $500 price was a bit high for most, and it has recently been dropped to just $399. And it's on sale for even less at Amazon.

Actually Dell created a 5″ phone about a year or two after Apple released the first iPhone. It didn’t have all of the polish of the Note but it was definitely the first phablet and was on the market long before the Note.

I honestly doubt this could be called a phablet nowadays… I know it was giant in the day, but since Samsung was the first to use that term in their marketing…

An article on “small phones” with no dimensions. I want to know how big these things are compared to my existing as I have small lady hands and don’t want a brick I can’t use one handed!

These hardly qualify as small……I want a SMALL phone with decent specs that will fit in my pocket. Big is not always better, nor is it what everyboby wants

If you want to compare actual sizes, go to phonearena.com. When you choose which phones to compare it will display side by side images of the actual phones, one front-on image and one taken from the side to show the thickness of the phone. The best way is to search for your existing phone and use it in the phonearena comparison so you can see exactly how much bigger (or smaller) other phones are in comparison to what you already know.

This is ridiculous. just 5 years ago the HTC Touch HD2, a 4,3″ phone was considered huge. Now, 4,5″ phones are called “compact” and “mini”… WTF?

this article should list SMALL phones by the title. since when are these phones small??? My old htc wildfire was smaller than these… not useful for a small person (160 cm). imagine yourself having a phone 20% bigger than you own at the moment – this is how normal phones feel to me, and I’m not the only one small person – not to mention many would like to have a discreet size phone that could be put into an elegant bag as well…

none of these are what I call small. The iphone 4 has a 3.5″ display, and that phone is about the largest I would ever buy. My xperia mini pro is 3″!

Well, bad for you, because these are the smallest ones available. So you can either buy an old phone with no warranty or support, or buy a dumb phone, or just deal with it and get a 4.5″ phone… It’s very sad, but I had to endure the same. So I bought Asus Zenfone 2, which is 5″. Way too big for my preference, but at least it has a one handed mode… It’s pretty damn cheap and its screen doesn’t shatter by itself, unlike Sony Z3c ;)
