Look Into the Downgrade Process

What if you download iOS 9.2 and you hate its performance? Well, you'll have a couple of options. You can look for potential fixes, or, you should be able to downgrade back to iOS 9.1.

Apple will likely continue signing off on the iOS 9.1 update (or whatever is the most recent version of iOS 9) for a week or two after the iOS 9.2 release.

If you're unfamiliar with the downgrade process, now would be a great time to get acquainted with the steps you'll need to take to drop back down to an older version of iOS 9. It'll be a little tricky for novice iOS users so you'll really want to investigate and get comfortable before iOS 9.2 is released.

Once it's released, you'll be on the clock.
