7-Inch HTC EVO View 4G Tablet for Sprint On Sale for $240 Sans Contract

Those looking for a 7-inch slate, which offers a great compromise between portability and usability on a display that’s larger than that of your smartphone, are in for a treat. In addition to the latest sub-$300 offerings with dual-core processing and custom UIs from Barnes & Noble and Amazon, HTC’s unibody piece with built-in wireless mobile broadband from Sprint’s 4G WiMax Now Network is available as a special promotion on eBay right now for just $240 without having to sign a contract.

The HTC EVO View 4G is basically a re-badged HTC Flyer, launching with HTC Sense on top of Android 2.3 Gingerbread on top of a single-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.5 GHz processor and 1 GB RAM. The tablet comes with 32 GB of memory with an option to further augment that storage with a micro SDHC memory card for an additional 32 GB of storage bringing the total to 64 GB.

At $240, the tablet is an excellent deal considering mobile warriors can sign up for mobile broadband as needed. This will extend the utility of the tablet if you’re working away from home, work, or a cyber cafe to gain Internet access.

Additionally, the HTC EVO View 4G has HTC’s active digitizer pen, which allows yet another method for note-taking, drawing, and input. The tablet allows users to quickly annotate and capture screenshots and photos, take notes with synchronized audio recording capabilities, and annotate digital books with your handwriting using the built-in HTC Reader e-book app.

Given that the HTC Flyer with 3G GSM is now starting to receive Honeycomb, it is likely that HTC and Sprint will update the tablet to Android 3.x in the future.

To take advantage of the deal, you can snag it on eBay today.
