9 Things to Know About the iPhone 5s iOS 9.3.5 Update

Published

on

We continue our look at Apple’s iOS 9.3.5 update with a dive into the most important things to know about the iPhone 5s iOS 9.3.5 update as we cruise into the month of September.

Apple continues to support the iOS 9 operating system as we push deeper into the year toward the release of its next big iOS update for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

The company recently pushed out an iOS 9.3.3 update to the iPhone 5s and other iOS 9 devices only to replace it a few days later with a brand new iOS 9.3.4 update.

The iPhone 5s iOS 9.3.4 update has since been replaced by iOS 9.3.5. Apple’s iOS 9.3.5 update is tiny but it’s an important upgrade for the aging former flagship.

iPhone 6s vs iPhone 5se - 9

The iOS 9.3.5 update delivers a set of three patches for serious security exploits if you’re coming from Apple’s iOS 9.3.4 update.

If you are jumping up to iOS 9.3.5 from something older than the iOS 9.3.4 update you’ll encounter a much larger update thanks to the changes on board the iOS 9.3.3, iOS 9.3.2, iOS 9.3.1, and iOS 9.3 updates.

This roundup is going to help you get familiar with the iPhone 5s iOS 9.3.5 update. It will provide you with updated feedback about the iPhone 5s iOS 9.3.5 update’s performance, details about the iOS 9.3.3 jailbreak, tips to help you get it installed, a look at current iPhone 5s iOS 9.3.5 problems, and more.

iPhone 5s iOS 9.3.5 Update: Impressions & Performance

iPhone 5s iOS 9.3.5 Update: Impressions & Performance

We've spent two weeks with the iPhone 5s iOS 9.3.5 update and the aging former flagship continues to perform well in key areas like battery life, connectiity, and speed. Before we get to performance, we want to quickly touch on the installation.

It shouldn't take you more than a few minutes to download and install if you're coming from iOS 9.3.4. If you're coming from an older update, it'll take a little bit longer. We didn't run into any installation problems with the iOS 9.3.5 upgrade.

As for the iPhone 5s iOS 9.3.5 update's performance, we haven't noticed any abnormal battery drain during regular use.

We haven't experienced any issues with Wi-Fi, AT&T's 4G/LTE networks or Bluetooth. We've successfully paired the iPhone 5s, and its new update, with several different routers, ISPs, and Bluetooth devices.

The iPhone 5s in our possession is still fast with the iOS 9.3.5 update on board. There's still a little bit of sluggishness when using Control Center (this was also an issue for us on iOS 9.3.4), and the keyboard occasionally stalls, but that's the only noticeable UI lag we've seen.

If you're coming from iOS 9.3, iOS 9.3.1, iOS 9.3.2, iOS 9.3.3, or iOS 9.3.4 you'll definitely want to consider upgrading to the iOS 9.3.5 update. The security fixes are extremely important.

If you're coming from something older, say iOS 8 or iOS 7, you might want to dig into feedback about its performance before making the move.

Of course! No risk no fun! How silly can someone be to believe those things? If it’s that easy, why 99.99% of the “normal” people still need to work regularly?

After 1.5 weeks of the upgrade my phone has gone from no Microphone and limited sounds for some apps to complete and utter collapse of the phone. It doesn’t work at all! This upgrade is a total failure my phone is only 5 months old!

ios 9.3.2 update : unable to adjust photos collected through the ‘save to album’ function, once the adjustments’ manually finished and ‘done’ is clicked, the photo is centred geometrically by the phone regardless of prior adjustment.

As this problem doesnt seem to afflict screen shots, I navigate around the issue by either taking screen shots of all the photos I wish to collect OR take a screen shot of the photo right after the manual adjustments’ finished but before going ahead to click the ‘done’ button; the latter does mean double the work to achieve a satifactory pic though 😒

Battery issues are now catastrophic since 9.3.2 on my 4S. From a full charge to completely dead, in 3 hours, with NO usage. I can’t even turn it on to check what is using the power, as it won’t stay on long enough to measure it. I’ve turned off virtually everything, tried ever fix on the ‘net, and it’s getting worse. Yesterday it lasted 6 hours, today only 3. Tomorrow, I probably won’t even be able to turn it on after a full charge.

    Anyone have any ideas?

I get paid by other companies to say something is wrong with my iphone. Every update, I’m supposed to write and complain about how the iphone is not working. Not getting paid enough for this and they expect me to write it on every article that talks about apple products. Screw you for coming to poor countries and using us to lie and paying us peanuts.

Can you please help me, I just got my iPhone 5s and no matter how much I toggle and reboot my flashlight or camera will not work! I am desperate. ..

It will still be under warranty so just call up Apple or visit their nearest retail outlet and most likely you will get another brand new phone.

I do not have a guarantee, because I bought it from someone when I do not know , Is there a solution to the problem ..??

    • Sandy

      07/11/2016 at 4:11 pm

There’s no way of knowing till the phone’s opened up but more than likely the phone’s either been dropped and land on the corner where the camera len/flash are located or another common problem is the internal battery expanding causing the front n back covers of the phone to come apart and this can easily lead to the home button n/or touch screen malfunctioning or even a shift in the back casing of the phone obscuring the camera lens/flash.

I gathered you purchase the phone sight unseen from a total stranger and has no way of contacting the fraudster or retrieving your money back?

Firstly check to see all 4 sides of the phone to make sure that the sides are not splitting apart.

Secondly go to setting and check the version of the ios you have. Do u know when the phone was purchased brand new?

Finally what do u mean exactly when u said the camera/flash is not working? Is there no image at all when u switch to camera in both front/back camera modes? Can u hear the camera click when u use the home button/side button/screen button? Does the torch light function work?

    07/12/2016 at 3:16 am

Yes, I have the same problem with the camera, as I said befor, But why it worked for a short time, and then I came back to the same problem camera and flash : Knowing that I have updated 9.3.2

      07/12/2016 at 3:46 am

Hmnnn, Hassani, I was obviously overly long-winded in my queries and you had a bit of an issue expressing the detail of the problem at hand with your phone.

So long story short, get the phone to the nearest Apple store, probably worthwhile to call ahead to make an appointment so that you won’t end up waiting for someone to serve you and give u the time of the day to hear u out.

The staff would normally be able to give u an idea whether the phone is still under warranty in addition to cost and duration of fixing the phone. Then you would hv to decide if the cost involved is acceptable or not and whether to go ahead or just take it that you’ve purchased a lemon of a phone and chalk it up to experience.

Finally, no offence intended but if you have a friend whose English proficiency is at a much higher level, then get him or her to Google the issue in as straight forward a manner as possible and see whether you can seek out others with similar problems and perhaps benefit from their solutions.

      Good luck!

I had at least 4 apps – Tweetbot, YouTube, Google, AudioBooks – _removed_ when I upgraded! :-( Problem was solved by going to Apps tab on iTunes when iPad connected and hit “Install Button” – said something about App not being on this iPad, but on another and asked if I wanted to _erase_ – obviously hit cancel. If you do a sync though, it will restore the removed apps.
