Capturing and Annotating Images Real Time

- Rob Bushway

Businesses reap huge benefits when they are able to implement solutions like what Active Ink Software has demoed below. Using their form collection software and Motion Computing's Semi-Rugged F5 Tablet PC, Active Ink captures images real time using the F5 integrated camera, annotates them, and sync them to the home office using the F5's integrated WWAN. This is a great example of a software solution harnessing the power of the hardware to provide real value.

Good application! I kind of do this with pocket outlook on my Advantage when I do site surveys, albeit I can't annotate on a pic like this.

I'm looking at the F5 just now as a possible tool for my building surveying team to carry out energy audits of sites with real time calculation databases. Something like this app would integrate well for taking pics and notes of any issues they see.

We used the Active Ink Professional Form Designer to create this application. The cost is $299. Anyone who buys the Pro Designer is welcome to have a copy of this photo capturing application.
